CLAY FOR KIDS - WHEEL THROWING (10-13YRS)

In this class, students will sit down at the pottery wheel and learn basic wheel throwing techniques, learning how to center, create basic shapes, and how to trim and finish a piece. All finished pieces will be hand painted with glaze and fired in our kiln to take home and enjoy.

CLAY FOR KIDS - BUILD AND SCULPT (8-12YRS)
INSTRUCTOR - nikki little

In this project based, hands on, clay class students will learn a variety of skills and create a variety of projects with clay!!

Students will also be taught some basic hand building techniques including slab, pinch and coil construction. Lastly, students will learn sculpture techniques and create their own clay sculptures. Students will also learn basic glazing techniques and finished projects will be fired in our kiln. All pieces are picked up two weeks after last class.

MIX IT UP!! 2D/ 3D ART (6-9YRS)

This is a mixed media class for kids who want to explore as many types of 2 and 3 dimensional art as possible! This class can include a variety of awesome projects from drawing, acrylic painting, watercolour painting, printmaking, collage and MORE! We take a more process based approach to art making in this class. All projects use quality art materials and students are taught techniques used by professional artists.

3D SCULPT (8 - 12YRS) INSTRUCTOR - ELKE RICHTER & ZAR KARAMLOO

This class is for kids who love to make 3D art!  In this class, we will use clay, paper mache, polymer clay, cardboard, fabric, and other fun materials to create sculptural projects each class.  We will learn about how to make a sculpture that can stay standing using balance and strong materials, painting 3D objects, and how to make sure something looks good from every direction!  Kids should feel confident using scissors and glue guns in order to take this class.

mix it up (14 - 18yrs) instructor - elke richter

This new class is for teens who have aged out of our Mix It Up classes and are looking for more challenging art projects!  Taught by professional artist Elke Richter, this class will introduce more advanced techniques, subject matter, concept, and will involve lots of creative freedom for teens with one-on-one feedback to help students improve their skills as artists, emphasizing learning skills that support their individual creativity.  We will explore painting, line drawing + composition, and sculpture, with input from students on projects and mediums they are interested in creating with.

This is an engaging and creative course for kids eager to explore the art of drawing and colored pencils!
