open studio workshop - loom weaving for kids
instructor - carla lorence
Fibre arts have become wildly popular in recent years. This traditional form of fibre art uses yarn, fabric or ribbon and a wooden framed loom, a loom is a device used to weave cloth and tapestry, to create beautiful pieces of art as well as functional pieces. Each of our workshops, participants will create a wall hung weaving project to take home. Each workshop date must be registered for separately, you can register for as many dates as you like.
All materials/ tools are provided for each workshop. This is a "Make-and-Take" workshop so participants will have a completed piece to take home at the end of each day. Participants may bring a water bottle and a peanut-free snack as we will take a "coffee break" part way through the morning :)
